Our fabric

Flip the label.
That's the whole trick.

Most "cooling" sleepwear is polyester wearing a nice name. Ours is 95% bamboo viscose, 5% spandex — and the label says so, because there's nothing to hide.

Lunaveila bamboo viscose fabric

The five-minute lie

You've probably lived this: new pajamas, tag says "cooling", they even feel cold when you put them on. Five minutes later you're warm. By 3am you're damp, the fabric is stuck to your skin, and you're doing the covers-on-covers-off dance until morning.

That's not you. That's polyester. "Ice silk", "cooling touch", "silky feel" — different names, same plastic. It feels cool in your hands because it conducts heat for a moment. Then it does what plastic does: traps everything underneath.

What good fabric actually does at night

Staying comfortable while you sleep isn't one job — it's three, in order:

01

Breathes

Air moves through the weave, so heat doesn't build up under the covers in the first place.

02

Wicks

When you do warm up, moisture gets pulled off your skin into the fabric instead of sitting on you.

03

Dries

The step everyone skips: the fabric releases that moisture fast, so you're not lying in a damp shirt at 3am.

Bamboo viscose does all three. Cotton manages the first two, then holds the dampness for hours. Polyester barely manages any of it.

Side by side

Polyester "ice silk"

  • Feels cool for about five minutes
  • Traps heat and sweat against your skin
  • Made from petroleum — it's plastic

Bamboo viscose 95/5

  • Breathes all night long
  • Wicks moisture off your skin
  • Dries before you're lying in it

Our promise, in writing

Caring for it

Machine wash cold on gentle, hang dry or tumble low. Skip fabric softener — it coats the very fibers that do the wicking. Treated well, bamboo viscose stays soft and keeps working, wash after wash.
